In this video Mariah Carey is singing in Times Square, New
York for new year’s eve. She was singing
out of time because she didn’t really
know what was going on, She just couldn’t pay attention to what was happening
around her. She stopped singing in between the performance while the dancers
were dancing on the stage. She started talking on stage as she was trying to
draw the fact that the performance wasn’t going well at all.
Some people were saying that she had problem in the speaker
which she puts in her ear to hear what was going on and how she had to sing
accordingly. A lot of people said that she didn’t rehearse even a bit and
feeling overconfident that she will be able to perform well.
These errors could have been avoided if she had rehearsed a lot during
her free time, So that she would know when to sing the next part, knew the
lyrics and the routine. She should’ve done a sound check before the final
performance. The person who is doing the sound check should also notice as to
how it is sounding like ,and if it is sounding pathetic, He/she should make
sure to change the kind of settings which it is supposed to be for the
performance/rehearsal to be good. She and the other person who was doing the
sound check should’ve made sure that it was the correct backing track and
whether it was sounding good or bad .Basically ,the preparation should’ve been
perfect and things should’ve been in proper condition.
Track 1: ( around 8.50):-
Too much noise and pathetic singing. The vocals need to improve their pitching and the drums shouldn't be played continuously. The music is in slow motion.Bass should also sound good. Music is out of time and out of tune. It doesn't sound like an actual music video. There is not much Singing,In this video or performance, Only the drum, bass/guitar is being played meaning mostly instrumental versions. What Could've been done is to add a pianist meaning there should've been a piano sound/version in the intro and singers could sing better some of them could do harmonies in the beginning. This track is not even a performance or a proper music band. Basically the structure,vocals etc. need to improve to make a better performance.
Track 2: (in the introduction):-
Too much harmonies and it is not coming clear. Secondly the harmonies and the singer are stretching some of the phrases for too long and Infact the instruments like guitar and drum are also too loud. What could have been done to fix it is that the harmonies shouldn't be singing in this track too much and should only be in very little parts of the track.Secondly, the singer and Of course,the other band members should know what they're doing and the singers should know the words of what they're singing(lyrics should be learnt). Basically,the skills of this performance need to improve to get better.
Track 3:Faulty Version and Goodish Version:-
The problem in the faulty version and good version is that the front and backing vocals are singing together, but the backing vocals and the front vocals clash with each other when they sing together. Now,how to solve this problem is that,EQ channel should be used and as well as other panel settings to sort out the problem by separating both the vocals and making one vocal louder and the other ones softer. In the faulty version,The vocal doesn't stretch the phrases for so long, but in the goodish version the vocal stretches it for a little longer to find some shape in the phrase. In the worse version,there was a coughing or some other breathless annoying sound when the music was being played before singer started to sing the first verse of the song.
