For my Research for this project,I had been going through case Studies,Brief history of Indian and Western Classical music,and also it's Crossover and fusion,Musicians and Mortality,Case Studies of Musical ensembles and So on.
The case studies talk about,How musicians perform as a band and talks about the Salary income,Musical ensembles talk about their roles like what instruments they play and how it is different from each other. In Indian classical music what I understood that it is mostly singing and Of course,Indian Instruments like Tabla Sitar etc.Western Classical,music can also consist of Rock and Pop music and is quite exciting and can be loud.Indian classical music is Calm and Soft.Western Music can also be soft.
I had added some of my own sources from my previous projects like Artists who use technology in music performances and my own review of my External lowky gig. Review/Case studies of Musical ensembles which I had been doing as part of my Music Certificate Course,I had plan to add it on my Music Yr 1 Diploma course which is this one as part of my research of musical performance as I am doing a performance based which focuses on Singing and Instrumental Skills.
I had also talked about my own musical band which we are practicing and rehearsing for our upcoming final gig for this project.
In Indian classical music,

Similarly in Western Classical music we sing Do re mi fa so la ti do
Do ti la so fa mi re do.
I have researched Something which is relevant and its part of what I am performing for the gig on 24th of May.Its a case study and some research about Linkin Park and Modern popular Music and how it is owed.
The research about Linkin Park tells me that it is a rock band named by three high schools,It got influenced by Jay-Z which is another rock band and Linkin Parks song is numb and Jay -Zs song is Encore and it was released on September 8 2013 and the Mashup version of Numb/Encore was released one year later when the mixed their songs together to make a mashup version.
Linkin Park music is Alternative rock,Hard rock,Bip hop etc.
Linkin Park-Castle of Glass is one of the Pop musical songs which I am performing for the Gig,So I planned to research a case study of Linkin Park and about Pop Music.

The pathways to success as a musician have always been complicated and unpredictable. But today's musicians have to bushwhack new trails to recognition,audiences,and commercial success. With the rapid decline of recorded music in physical form and the decline in the inclination and ability of record labels to invest in breaking new acts,the artist or band and the manager are assuming that role themselves. In many ways this is a good thing.The age-old complaints about record labels making artists do things they abhor will diminish.And perhaps many new pathways will be discovered,creativity and innovation will be more highly valued,and great new music will be produced.
The current state of affairs is open and evolving.At one extreme,you have artists who discover ways to use the Internet to achieve massive recognition and are attempting to convert that celebrity to success.At the other extreme are artists who are "touring their brains out" and using live performance to slow build a dedicated,personally connected fan base.
Portugal.The Man may be the best example of the latter. Here is a band that found a tough-minded manager,the one who made the fewest promises and brought the mentality of a Marine drill sergeant
to the task. Together,they dedicated to outwork every other band on the planet. And it seems to be paying off in strong,original music,growing success,and dedicated fans that have a personal connection to the band.
What I understood about this case study is that,this basically explains like how to become successful as a musician and how do you achieve,get payed for live performances,making sure that whatever we do as musicians should be enthusiastic and full of confidence,people making themselves successful etc.

FMP-My Band practice and rehearsal for the gig.
Yesterday,during the composing class we booked access time to practice for the Gig.So Alyx,Kenny and I rehearsed Wavin Flag by K'naan and American Boy by Estelle,I will still practice to make the songs successful for the performance but Kenny and Alyx will need to learn the lyrics of the songs properly and along with Kessanna and Reece who weren't here yesterday,we will have to practice in such away that it becomes a good performance,Everyone is busy with their projects and they are in so many songs of the gig with lots and lots of band groups but we will try and do our best as we can for the gig.I had organised everything else,I gave the lyrics,Chords,Had a listen and practiced.We as band members also should share the work for whatever we are doing to perform and we are.So far,Some people have still accepted to be part of my band,but two people named Marco and Hasna said no politely because they are very busy with their projects and other stuff.

FMP-Crossover and fusion between Indian and Western Music
Crossover:-
Crossover is a term applied to musical works or performers who appeal to different types of audience for example (especially in the United States) by appearing on two or more of the record charts which track differing musical styles or genres. If the second chart combines genres,such as a "Hot 100 " list,the work is not a crossover.
Popular classics:-
Particular works of classical music have become popular among individuals who mostly listen to popular music, sometimes appearing on non-classical charts.
Jazz fusion:-
Jazz fusion (also known as jazz-rock) is a musical genre that developed in the late 1960s when musicians combined aspects of jazz harmony and improvisation with styles such as funk rock,rhythm and blues,and Latin Jazz.

FMP-A brief history of western music
Many of you have seen the cdza video. "An Abridged History of Western Music in 16 Genres 1cdza Opus No. 7" (below) that went viral this summer. (cdza founded by Joe Sabia, Micheal Thurber, and Matt McCorkle,create musical video experiments.) To compliment this lively celebration of the history of western music from ragtime to reggae and baroque to bluegrass, we thought about how we can put this music into words. Here's a quick list of definitions,drawn from the latest edition of the Oxford Dictionary of Music,to help lead you through each genre.
Gregorian chant:-
Solo and unison plainsong choral chants associated with Pope Gregory I which became the fundamental music of the Roman Catholic Church.
Baroque:-

FMP-A Brief Summary of Indian Music
Indian Classical Music:-
Indian classical music is based on the ragas ("colors"), which are scales and melodies that provide the foundation for a performance. Unlike western Classical music, that is deterministic,Indian classical music allows for a much greater degree of "personalisation" of the performance,almost to the level of jazz-like improvisation. Thus, each performance of a raga is different.The goal of the raga is to create a trancey state,to broadcast a mood of ecstasy. The main difference with western classical music is that the Indian Ragas are not composed" by a composer,but were created via a lengthy evolutionary process over the centuries. Thus they do not represent mind of the composer but a universal idea of the world.
Vocal Music:-
However,I nd in classical music is mainly a vocal (not only instrumental) art. "Khayal" emerged over the centuries as the vernacular (and romantic) version of "Drupad" (the oldest extant vocal religious and aristocratic style). Both the sitar and the tabla were probably introduced (in the 18th century) to complement Khayal singing.
Milan Tansen,who lived at the court of the Mughal emperor Akbar in the 16th century, is credited with codifying Hindustani (North Indian) vocal music, notably the dhrupad style that he learned from his teacher Swami Haridas,He composed the Darbari Knada,Miyan ki Todi,Miya ki Malhar and Miyan ki Saarang ragas.

One Direction vs the Beatles:-
"Harry Styles might have claimed that One Direction are " even bigger" than The Beatles,but Paul McCartney vehemently disagrees that any modern band will ever take his band's crown.The British singer and former Beatle, 73,believes the "Yellow Submarine" gang rose to global fame because they wrote their own music."
The Beatles and One direction:-
When Beatles first arrived in America,it was similar to when One Direction arrived in America. They were welcomed by Screaming girls who had already knew who they were. The personalities of the Beatles and One Direction are quite similar. When The Beatles were young, like One Direction,something audiences loved about them was their fun and energetic performances. One Direction keeps the audience intrigued by not only their popular hit songs,but also their upbeat and funny selves. The personalities of the members of The Beatles and One direction are very comparable. The outfits of both bands all correlate. The boy band look is always the same;the color schemes of the boys all match. The look is a big part of the band especially for One Direction because they are more modern and today the look is everything. The bands perform in a similar way because they both have a ton of fun on stage and are ecstatic about their music and performing it. The bands connect with their audiences and make their fans feel special. A major difference between the bands is that One Direction doesn't play any instruments. The Beatles amazed their audience with their singing and ability to play instruments. One Direction just has One member,Niall Horan,who
plays the guitar in some songs and in the Beatles, all members of the band play instruments.
The songs, "Little Things" and "Yesterday", use Ethos similarly because they both cause the audience to feel true emotions. They relate The bands are different because The Beatles wrote the song "Yesterday",and One Direction didn't write the song "Little Things". The band builds a bridge to their audience in a way because the song is relatable to every day situations. During both of these songs,the bands connect with their audience on an emotional level in concerts. During concerts,tears are pouring down girls faces whether it's as they look at five boys of One Direction telling them that they're perfect and beautiful in every way or whether it's The Beatles belting out their inspiring words to their fans. Both bands are highly credible and one is not more convincing than the other. The simplicity of the instrumentation emphasises on the vocals of the boys. The tone of this song are similar because they reach out to the audience and shows them a deep and sensitive side of The Beatles and a deep and sensitive side of themselves.

FMP-Performance of our Band
Now the thing is that Marco has also said that he would have to decline his position for the band due to some situation or the other. The other members have agreed,now let me see what they have to say about it.I already gave them the lyrics and chords of the songs which I gave as part of my opinion.
Hasna can also not be part of my band because she has other things to do and she is in some other band,Maybe I should include Junior/Morgan as another person for another drummer and Euan as a guitar or bass player.
For the performance,Let Kenny,Alyx,Kessana and I see how we practice and if necessary,let's see how we rehearse and if necessary,we will call somebody from the music production course or somebody from the performance course to rehearse and be part of our band.
Everything should be similar as I spoke about in the first week,but just Marco,Hasna and Reece can't be part due to their personal situation.

FMP-Musicians and mortality
If we desire an improved public understanding of science,we researchers have to do our part to communicate beyond the narrow academic audiences to which our scholarly work is targeted.We would love to see more scholars share their findings with the general public forums,addressing audiences on radio and television,and presenting their work on accessible fashion on the web.In this case study we look at how Proffessor Dianna Kennys Kaudable effort ar publicly disseminating her solid scholarly work took on a life on its own as her words and data were reinterpreted and re-explained.
Age of death by genre:-
In March 2015, a striking graph made the rounds on social media. The graph reproduced below,appears to show that being a musician in older musical genres-blues,jazz,gospel-is a relatively safe occupation,whereas performing new genres-punk,metal and especially rap and hip-hop-is extraordinarily dangerous.

What I have been doing so far for my FMP is that I had made a proposal for my FMP and want to do a performance based work.I had also been working wih other people who were working on logic and matching the music tunes.This is called collaborating with other people.Last week,what I did is that I set myself a target for my project which was that I was imagining if I was in a band and now for this project,I am preparing for the Gig.I have selected the songs which I want to perform which are Castle of Glass by Linkin Park,Wavin Flag by K'naan,and American boy by Estelle and some originals if Possible.I had listen to the tracks and practiced the chords of those particular songs taking help from YouTube and the Internet.I had selected some people whom I want in my band.For the next few weeks,I would need to make sure that the band members to be part of the practice and perform for the Gig.I spoke to two of my band members named Kenny and Marco and they agreed to be part of the performance with me.Marco had a look at my blog.In the practical sessions,let me see what happens,whether all the band members would like to be part or not.The band members might say yes or no,because they are busy with their other project.But my FMP,Idea was to think of a performance based work which focuses on Singing, Harmonies and Keyboard/Piano skills with other people performing with me in a band.During my previous weeks,I had been adding my previous work to my FMP such as,Artists who use technology in music performance and Review of an external Gig In my own words.I had referred to the review of the Beatles abbey Road and writing about it and also writing about one case study,The Man of Portugal as Reffering to case Studies of Musical Performers.

FMP-Practice for the Practical sessions and the gig
What I did is that,I wrote down the lyrics of Castle of glass-Linkin Park,Wavin flag by K'naan,and American boy by Estelle,I also noted down the chords of the songs to get an idea of how I and the other band members should practice and perform.This is what is in my opinion to think that imagine,I am practicing with my band for this final major project. I will show my work to the band members on Monday and Tuesday when we have our songwriting and band workshop sessions and practice for the gig.

FMP-Week 1, Examples and main thing for the Collaboration.
I spoke to Kenny and then to Marco,One by One and and they said,They agreed to be part,but the only probem is now that Reece will not be coming to college for sometime,So as a group we anyway need to decide who wants to do what and without Reece,How will we do.

What we did today as part of the final major project,was working on each other to collaborate with each other's tracks,We first saw a video of a boy making a musical track,then we started working on logic,we needed to make 4 to 8 bars using a metronome to make our track.I only used a piano sound and overlapped with other instruments,I learnt that We should always use a metronome and instruments should not be recorded again and again,If I am done with recording,I can try out with another instruments,Some students also made 8 bars,and when I listened to there tracks,I matched the chords with the track,the way it as being played/recorded in logic,and after we were done,We started to save as putting our name and writing collab because all of us were collaborating with each other's tracks.It was an amazing experience and very interesting to get an idea of how we are doing.We were elaborating music and stuff on logic to make our tracks sound good throughout the bars,it was lasting for.
This is the kind of work we will be doing with each other in the final major project like working its each other,giving presentations and getting feedback.This is all related to our own interests.
The people of my composing class are very much involved with their work.All of us work on our projects and do whatever comes into our mind.
Referring to the past,I had included to artists who use technology in their music performance and a review about an external gig named lowky gig,which I wrote in my own words after watching it.
I had been practicing my singing and playing piano and keyboard and refferring to my solo set,I had to work on dynamic variations to bring musicality,So I made my own music on the black and white
keys on the piano using the pedal to try and bring some musicality and also what I had been learning in my instrumental lessons.
This refers to my future and to go ahead with my final major project and the end of year summer gig.
This is all mentioned below.I might not have the band members I have expected up till now,It might change and the songs also might change depending on the time and number of people who are in my band.
This is an example of if I am already in a band which I am not as yet because I just started doing this
project right now and we just came back after spring break.

Today's Easter gig was fantastic,I had been practicing and recaping my parts a lot in my free time,For pink matter which was a cover,I listened to the song on YouTube and played accordingly as how I did with my band members. I had also been practicing with my band using technology and it was a new thing which I learnt including the vocal transformer which is a type of music equipment as
to how the voice would like to sound and the Minibrute analog Synthesiser which is like a keyboard
but small in size as compared to an original one. I enjoyed playing the bass sound on it and the
normal keyboard and Piano. For the first original,I played the original big keyboard,For pink matter cover I played the piano and in the second original,I played the Minibrute analog synthesiser.We
named our first original Do you know my name? and the second original,we named it Need the
kind of love.It was an amazing event and the use of technology helped us very well to practice,rehearse and perform.This gig was better than the practice gig because,We changed

some of the parts in the
original Need the kind of love and two other songs.I looked around the theatre while performing and moving my head with the beat but focused more on the keyboard and kept in eye contact with the
band members especially the guitarist and drummer.So,the band consists of Reece(guitarist),Junior(Drummer),Hasna and Marco (Singers) And I played the piano,Minibrute and normal keyboard.In the practice gig,We played Need the kind of love only.Both the gigs were very good but the final one was the best.I enjoyed practicing with the band and practicing
individually.We had a good sense of rhythm,Confidence and enthusiasm while performing. I also liked the other
bands as well and especially the song roll and smoke by Alyx,Russa,Jansen,Kenny and Shade and
everyone's performances of this entire Easter gig. We named our band Soulfoultrigger and we
were the last who performed for the gig.

Problems which I overcame were that sometimes,when I had problem connecting the new equipment to the output and tried to make sure that they were connected to the right places.Finally I managed to do that and also I had been playing out of time when rehearsing but kept practicing and made this a
better performance with the band members. I always communicated with my band members as to
what I needed to do and we all prepared to perform well in the Easter gig.

These all consist of how I had been working from the beginning of the funky junk project band for the Easter gig.
Another problem which I overcame while practicing for the Easter gig was that I was confused about the amps while connecting,but I could deal with it by taking a a picture of where it was connected and also another thing was that I was holding all the equipment using technology, when I was returning it to Grant. I dropped the equipment while opening the door to go out of the room after the lesson.So,by mistake it fell down and then I realised that next time I will ask my band members to open the door and beware of my surroundings which are near us always.

Feedback from the funky junk run through
For my feedback,It was a good performance which we did for the practice gig,but Olly told me that While I am performing,I should not look at one place continuously,I should be looking around and all of us should enjoy more as to what we are doing. Of course,I was enjoying as I moved with the beat and playing the bass synth sound on the Minibrute analog synthesiser.But we all will keep working in the band workshop and Songwriting sessions to make it a good Easter gig.

In this course what I can say is that I had been doing very well in music.Whatever we had been practicing in the songwriting and band workshop sessions,I always went on to the Internet and figured out the chords,but what we had actually performed in our classes was actually different to what I had done individually at home,But as I Started practicing with the band, I could understand what I was doing with the band members,and whatever I am learning with the band members in songwriting and band workshop sessions,I always cooperated and practiced with them and practiced at home individually to do better in the actual performances and we actually performed well in the Induction and winter gigs. I have been attending all my classes regularly and on time which is why my attendance and punctuality are up to a 100 percent and in case if I am about to miss any lesson,I would always inform my teacher who is taking the lesson.
For composition,I enjoyed doing remix and rearranging and electronic production for the first term and now in the second term,I am working as a music producer.
From the beginning of the year,I was very anxious and worried as to whatever I am doing in Logic is good or bad,Later on, I realised that actually I can make my own track or work on logic however I wanted to work and get better and better.I also had been looking at my teachers blogs as to whatever I had been learning and doing in each and every lesson and also for my self study.
I liked doing music theory and had been getting good marks in my theory tests like after every vacation,When I was given a test as to what we had been learning in our previous lessons.In Composition and sequencing classes,I have started enjoying and got used to work on my tracks in Logic.What I would like to do for my final major project is that I would want to work as a music producer as it is and referring back to the first term,I would like to do remix and rearranging. I had also been doing well in keyboard technical excercises in theory classes and practicing technical targets at home and uploading videos of it on my blog.My attendance and punctuality are 100 percent.I didn't miss any lesson at all during these two terms and unless there was an emergency, I would always inform my teachers.I also liked using the new equipment with my band like the vocal transformer and the Mini brute keyboard.I learnt how to play the bass sounds and other ones as well, basically how to tune it.The instrumental peri lessons gave me the basic Idea of how I am going to perform in band workshop and songwriting sessions even though it was a little different and how to become better as a pianists so well.So,I had been attending these sessions as well.I enjoyd these classes. I always kept my work updated during this course,My blog work,theory work etc. I also liked joining music certificate lessons as I am good in singing and people appreciate it.Infact,I sang very well in yesterday's recital which was part of my first assessment. The examples of first two terms,help me in my argument are when I did remix and rearranging as part of my composition and creating anything which I want to do in Logic which is related to what I am being taught in Composing and sequencing classes.Also when doing my rehearsal diary by practicing technical targets also performing in the induction and winter gigs.

FMP-External gig

This gig was amazing because apart from performers who stand and move as they perform,The performers who supported lowky,moved in excitement,walked around the stage and were successful in engaging on the stage and towards the audience,I also liked the audience singing along with the performers.The way the performers performed on stage was a way of expresses feelings and making the whole audience and everyone enjoying the show.It was like a sound and light show because ,the light reflects on the person who is performing,when the performer speaks very fast,The words are not very clear,as to what is happening.The performers had a good sense of rhythm and this show was a lovely experience for me.They also wanted to thank everyone for this show like the supporters,security etc.They rocked the stage and I liked the audience taking videos of the performers.Especially,in the Song called terrorist/Soul,I liked the way the performer was waving his hand towards the audience.Actually,all the performers were successful,they had a lot of confidence and enthusiasm towards themselves.Hence,I enjoyed.The performers were successful in talking about the meaning of their songs.People clapped,shouted etcSome of the performers were those who were supporting lowky,hence that is why it is called the lowky gig.The final performance was the performers who were singing a song as part of their performance called Ahmed.The Audience enjoyed,which is why the performer said thank you all for coming.It has been a wonderful evening as the performers rocked the stage.The overall impression of this entire event is I also enjoyed and like the sound,rhythm and everything.I also liked moving with the musical beat.

- ‘I Feel It Coming’ is a song by Canadian singer The Weeknd featuring French electronic duo Daft Punk, it is from his third studio album, Starboy (2016). The artists co-wrote and co-produced the song with Doc McKinney and Cirkut, with additional writing from Eric Chedeville.
The use of technology used in this track are Drum Machine, Synthesiser, Vocal transformer is also used when singing for improving the voice.
The vocals and the whole beat of the song especially use technology. The guitar and synthesiser harmonise quite a lot in the song. The guitar is playing the chords and the synthesiser is playing the arpeggio in an electronic version compared to the guitar – this effect is used to create depth in the song.
The effect of the vocal transformer was that it was changing the voice making it higher and lower and especially when it goes higher it creates a harmony. The voice was also sounding robotic. The effect of the robotic voice was that it makes the song sound more electronic. The outcome these effect of the use of technology used in this music is that the song sounds so nice.
Pink Matter - Frank Ocean (Feat Andre 3000)
Pink Matter is a song by Frank Ocean Feat. Andre 3000 of Outkast; it was released in 2010 on Frank’s first album Channel Orange.
In this song, the Guitar is used to play the solo of the song, A vocal transformer is being used to make the voice and the lyrics sound slow. It made the song sound emotional as it is not too much of a rock and pop track.
There is a synth being used and the synth sounds like the strings are being played in most of the song and the effect is that it makes the song sound peaceful. The Drum machine is being used and plays a very straight beat. The drum and the guitar are being playing together in the song.
All the instruments change in the middle of the song and different parts are added (i.e. Andre 3000) but the synth is played throughout the entire song and stays the same. The changes of the instruments create melodies. The synth keeps the song within the tune.
Part 2
We are using the Mini brute analog synthesiser and vocal transformer, it is used for playing instruments like bass etc. It is smaller and slightly different to the normal keyboard and piano. In Minibrute keyboards we can tune to wave sounds as well. When setting up the keyboard,it is very important to take a picture as to how it is set up because next time or next lesson,when you have to use it,you will need the picture of the settings and also how it is connected to hear inputs and outputs. In minibrute keyboards,you can make it sound like what it needs to like bass sounds,sounds of wind instruments etc. For example,I was using it to make it sound as if I am playing a bass. Even in a normal keyboard we can select the sounds which we want to play, but the minibrute keyboard is only different in size as compared to the normal one becausethe minibrute analog synth is smaller than the normal one. In a normal keyboard you have numbers to tune, but a minibrute analog synthesiser consists of mostly controls - this allows you to control the exact sound you make as opposed to preset keyboard sounds.
My equipment also includes extra wires to connect to the guitar and bass amps to listen to the Output when rehearsing our songs for the performance.These amps are used to listen to output and also make sure that the sounds are coming clear when we do sound check before the performance.These are very important and also working on the panel settings for sound effects and while connecting the equipment.
In our band we also use a Voice transformer which is used for singers for tuning the parts into vocoder etc for the voices to be reflected. Its used to make the vocals sound different while singing in the band and also using reverb and other effects.
Ampere is a main extension chords which are added to the equipment for outputs and the other sound effects and also it is a very small extension chord as compared to the plug points and the Guitar and bass amps for outputs. Along with the equipment,There are other wires which are connected to the speakers so that it can be loud enough while playing and performing on stage.
This is one of the examples of how I got influenced by other artists.
Dub FX,(real name Benjamen Stanford) is a worldwide street performer and studio recording artist from St Kilda,Melbourne,Australia. At the start of his career he was singing in a local alternative rock and rapcore band initially known as Twitch, in 2004 they released a debut and the only album Exeunt Omnes. Dub FX is completely independent, using only live performance, word of mouth,Internet social networking, and a number of easily accessible free.
Dub FX uses many different effects in his live performance; he started off with a Boss GT-6 multi-effects pedal which he then traded up for the GT -8,and now uses a Boss GT-10B bass guitar effects pedal for nearly all the effects used over his voice. He uses reverb,live looping,Delay,Production controllers,Keyboard synth.
