FMP-Project proposal Week

Project proposal:-

Introduction:

For my Final Major Project,What I have researched so far,I kept it for reference on my Blog,But for something more relevant to what I am performing for the Gig,I had researched and did a case study of Linkin Park and Research of Modern Pop Music.The Songs which I am doing for the gig are all related to pop music and Can also be similar to Western Classical Music because they are English Songs by Artists,For Which I am performing for the Gig. The songs which I am performing for the gig are Wavin Flag by K'naan and American Boy by Estelle.

Context:

The type of western music I like is rock, pop and hip-hop which I have only been learning and then performing when taking part in performances as part of this course and even in my school in India.

For my project I will be doing performance based work rather than a production based, as this will give me a change to showcase my skills (keyboard, piano and singing.) It will also showcase the differences and similarities between Indian and western music.

This project helps me to become an independent person to work on my own with this project and organising times with other people to work with me, like we performed together in the summer gig and I myself chose the song and people, I wanted to perform with, so I set myself a target, which was
 to select the songs band members, find the lyrics and chords and send it to them.

Timeline:-

Referring to research,I am now researching about Linkin park Case study,basically it's history and its musical styles and also started researching about pop music. I will need to consider the FMP pitch made during the funky junk project as I had mentioned little bit
about it above and Writing more about the main objectives for the final project as to what and how I
will achieve. The week after that which is the final major project nothing will happen due to enrichment week.

1st week
When we get back from spring break,As to whatever we are doing for our FMP, We should start
preliminary research and planning of the project. Finalise collaborators and organised times to work together.

 2nd week
We start investigating the wider context by conducting a literature review into the relevant sources.

3rd Week
we Look at one case study in greater detail to analyse one aspect that will help the progression of our project.Like I had been looking at a case study about The man in Portugal.Similarly,I will look at others when we all work further in this project.

 4th week
We Continue doing our research of both academic and practical related to music practical sessions,theoretical etc.

 5th week
We need to give mid point presentations to our friends about our work in progress and what we are doing and get feedback as to what we should improve in order to do better.

6th week 
We will be having a run through gig and we need to finalise all our work which is
necessary for the project and then in the week after that we should be performing on 23 or 24 of May in the Summer gig.

8th week
We start an evaluation taking help from the assignment brief and in the final week,we
finalise the evaluation and it should be ready for marking as whatever work we had been doing on our blog for this term/project.


In my Project proposal,I already spoke about what I did in the previous projects,basically referring to the past of the year and working.

The final major project involves,research of Case studies,presentation and getting feedback from
friends. Preparing and performing for the summer gig etc.

Methodologies of music performers/Project proposal

What methodologies,I had used in my music performance last term were the Minibrute analog synthesiser and vocal transformer. I also use keyboard and piano to play and sing as well.


These help me to go in tune,with the beat and within time. I find it interesting. Also to organise myself and choose the band members and songs to practice together and individually recap our parts for the Gig.

Collaborations /Musical Chairs

What we did today as part of the final major project,was working on each other to collaborate with each other's tracks,We first saw a video of a boy making a musical track,then we started working on logic,we needed to make 4 to 8 bars using a metronome to make our track.I only used a piano sound and overlapped with other instruments,I learnt that We should always use a metronome and instruments should not be recorded again and again,If I am done with recording,I can try out with another instruments,Some students also made 8 bars,and when I listened to there tracks,I matched the chords with the track,the way it as being played/recorded in logic,and after we were
done,We started to save as putting our name and writing collab because all of us were collaborating with each other's tracks.It was an amazing experience and very interesting to get an idea of how we are doing.We were elaborating music and stuff on logic to make our tracks sound  good throughout the bars,it was lasting for.

This is the kind of work we will be doing with each other in the final major project like working its each other,giving presentations and getting feedback.This is all related to our own interests.

Last Composing class on on Moday 20th March we all worked with each other's compositions and I picked one instrument of my track and after that,I swapped around to the other students computers to elaborate some more musical instruments and matching the chords/tunes of the track. It was an interesting Idea.

Like this on Logic,I can make musical tunes and what I can do is I can use it as a practice for a
performance in music.
