Case study of linkin park
Linkin Park was a
band which was named by three high school friends. Linkin Park was founded by Mike Shinoda, Rob Bourdon, and Brad Delson. The band members of Linkin Park
kept changing from time to time, meaning some of them were in the band
from past to present and some quit the band in the past. The band members
have varied/changed over the years.
In the earlier
years, Linkin Park consisted of alternative and industrial rock music etc. However,
a kind of change they had in their musical styles as later
on there were a lot of collaborations with the band and there were more
hip hop songs in the band. They started to combine elements of rock
music, hip hop and electronica, and these have been categorised as alternative metal and rap rock. They became more
main stream due to their change in musical styles.

The linkin Park band
consists of rock and pop music as part of the band. The band also consists of
hip hop and electronica sounds as part of their music which they include.
What
I understood about this Linkin Park band is that they wanted to take a break
from listening to other rock bands, and had decided to produce and record their
own music.
Three days grace, Hoobastank, Hinder, Papa
reach and Evanescence are the bands which are similar bands related to
Linkin Park and also there are other bands related to it like Red,
Lost prophets etc.

Linkin Park's trademark sound, comes from the
interplay between Shinoda and Bennington's vocal styles. Rapping vs.singing/screaming.
Joe Hahn's sampling in the background also adds to the alt-rock/nu-metal feel.
There is a song named numb in which Linkin park got influenced by Jay-Z.There was a song named Numb by Linkin Park and another song named Encore by Jay-Z,and then later on when Linkin Park and Jay Z mashed up both these songs,They named it Numb/Encore.
The actual version was released in 2003 and the mash up version was released one year
later,Meaning when both Linkin Park and Jay-Z mashed up the version of both the Songs Numb and Encore. The actual version is in C sharp major scale, and the mash up version is in A major scale. The technology which is included in this song is Electric Drum Kit,Electric Guitar,Hip hop vocals. Why these instruments are important is because they wanted to make a hip hop band with each other using these instruments,They worked very hard especially in the mash up version of both the songs named Numb by Linkin Park and Encore by Jay-Z,The kind of vocals in the song is taken from audio samples to make a hip hop band,Basically known as the Hip hop vocals and even the Drum beat makes a hip hop sound when Linkin Park and Jay-Z are recording the mash-up version of Numb/Encore.
