Literature review:-
Pop music is a term used to describe popular music, it is a
genre of music that is influenced by many other musical styles.David Hatch and
Steven Millward define pop music as a type of music which contains Popular,Jazz
and Folk Musics. The definition of pop music is deliberately flexible as the
music that is identified as pop is constantly changing. The term "Pop
song" was first recorded in 1926. Modern popular music and rock and Pop
music can be related to western music also because,There are mostly English
Songs. It is more to be performed with a band in Gig,One can also perform
themselves as well in the sense of "piece of music having popular
appeal". Pop has had the special meaning of non-classical music. Some of
the most well known names in pop music history such as; The Beatles, Michael
Jackson, The Rolling Stones, ABBA etc.
The songs which My band members and I had performed for the Gig are the songs related
to Pop music. The songs which we had
performed are Wavin Flag by K'naan and American Boy by Estelle. K'naan who is
the singer in Wavin Flag is a South African citizen but the song is in English.
When people listen to pop music in Gigs, after
each and every performance, they scream out while clapping
for the performance.
Pop music songs are also from various types of music, Such
as Hard rock, Alternative rock etc. Some artists who make pop music take some
one or more pieces of other types of music whichever they like and put it into
their own music to make a song. This usually happens in Indian Bollywood movie
songs and English songs of well. Some artists also want to do a copy of some
phrases of Indian and Western Musical songs meaning, English and Hindi Songs
and put them into their own music. People also like listening to Pop music when
they are free at home,When they are
driving and when they listen to the super hit songs in the
radio and it can also provide them
entertainment for them.
According to me, Pop music can also be performed by
rockstars and other musicians in concerts like Razz Matazz and So on. Pop music
has often been repeated meaning, In some songs, or even more songs, there are
repetitions. The lyrics and Musical tune are the same like for example in a
song named around the world.
My idea is that,When we are selecting a set of songs,
especially when singing with a group of band and also at her band members,
There has to be a time limit like for example, If you are singing Six songs for
making a 25 minute performance, You must sing some of the lyrics of each song
to make it work nicely and it only comes by Practicing. If you sing the all the
songs continuously meaning if
you are singing one whole song and similarly if you sing the
whole lyrics of other songs, that is also
good means you are confident of singing the whole song and
have learnt the whole lyrics of the
songs to perform, but the Audience may get bored and not
enjoy it because same things are being
repeated over and over again. So it is better to cut some
parts of the pop songs you are performing
and work on the time limit to prepare for your performance.
How Pop music and the research articles I looked at so far
are related to my Final Major Project is
that, the songs which we had performed for the summer gig
are all related to Pop Music and
especially a group band named Linkin park, is a group band
who wanted to take break by listening
to so many kinds of music and wanted to do some sampling
meaning that they wanted to make Pop Music, So they took some parts of other
kinds of Music and put it all together for using to
make Pop music. There was a song named Numb by Linkin Park
which got influenced by Another band named Jay Z. The name of the song of Jay Z
was Encore. These songs were released in
September 2003 and One year later, Linkin Park and Jay Z got influenced with
each other and
mixed both their songs together and named it Numb/Encore.
If you are performing individually, then it is up to you how
you want to perform but do keep practicing and don't let it go down.
"History of Pop Music" - Luka Wheeler
Modern Pop music was originated in the 1950's in the United
States and the United Kingdom. Early pop music was originated in the 16th and
17th century. Pop music is also somewhat related to Classical Music especially
the
Brass sound. People who had been setting up musical sheets
had been making companies.
Pop music songs are also from various types of music, Such
as Hard rock, Alternative rock etc. Some artists who
make pop music take some one or more pieces of other types
of music whichever they like and put it into their
own music to make a song. This usually happens in Indian
Bollywood movie songs and English songs of well.
Some artists also want to do a copy of some phrases of
Indian and Western Musical songs meaning, English and Hindi Songs and put them
into their own music. People also like listening to Pop music when they are

"What pop music owes to the classical masters" -
Imogen Tilden
This basically talks about Artists about How they were
working together with other musicians or
artists to make pop music better. Bach was the cleverest
musician of Pop Music. They had also been working on three or four chords as
well. Artists such as Mozart have been
making melodies and harmonies out of Chords and this article also talks about
how artists have been producing opera music and also while some artists are
singing.
Modern popular music and rock and Pop music can be related

performed with a band in Gig,One can also perform themselves as well in the
sense of "piece of music having popular appeal". Pop has had the
special meaning of non-classical music.
What I mean to say is that, there are many artists who are
taking one or more parts of various kinds of music like
classical and put use those parts to music. This is known as
Pop music and Sampling.
"It’s true: Pop music has become more repetitive"
- Rachel Kaser
I also feel the same thing, and therefore people get bored
of listening to those same songs again and
again. In this article there was a video clip of a song n,ed
around the World, In this song, the lyrics and the sound of the music are being
repeated over and over again.
My idea is that,When we are selecting a set of songs,

There has to be a time limit like for example, If you are singing Six songs for

Pop music was a great leveller. Now it's a bespoke plaything
for the rich:-
What I understood about this article is that there was a new
Pink Floyd record out, as artists used to say in the 1970s. It's not only a
record, a CD, or anything resembling the modest recorded artefacts with which
that a group made their name, but rather a 27 disc cornucopia. It contains more
than 26hours of music, 42 "items of memorabilia", five reproduction
vinyl singles and three feature films. It is titled The Early Years 1965-72, so
prepare for a sequel, and it's a outward appearance suggests an item of
colour-coded furniture. Pop music used to be heard by people when other people
had listened to music while playing CD's, Cassetes etc. But now along with the
27 disc cornucopia, people have also started listening to Pop music in YouTube.
Other examples abound, equally luxurious and loving done, though that is not
exactly the point. For the first 35 years of its life the Who's first album, My
generation, was a primary-coloured example of everything great about the peak
of the teenage epoch, and priced accordingly. Now, having already been packaged
in a "deluxe edition", it has been reinvented as a "spectacular
79-track, five-disc super-deluxe" version (with, inevitably "period
memorabilia"), which will retail for just shy of £90.
In my opinion, Pop Music can be heard anywhere,Maybe if you
would like, You could also make Pop Music yourself.
Indian Pop music:-
Indian Pop music is also known as Indian Pop, Hindi Pop,
Indie pop and Indie-Pop. It refers to Music in South Asia with a Play back
singer named Ahmed Rushdi and his song was named as Koi Koi Karana in 1966.
Indian pop music was also made in other countries like Nepal, Bangladesh and
Shri Lanka as a pioneering influence of their respective pop culture. The term
Indian Pop music generally refers to Studio album Music like Soundtrack and
Indian Bollywood film songs, emotional pictures etc.
These articles basically talk about Many other things
related to Pop Music. Such as songs which are related to Pop music kept being
repeated. For example in a song, A song named around the world and Of course
some other songs related to Pop music, have the same tuning structure and the
lyrics is often repeated from time to time.
How these articles are related to my final major project is
that, The songs which I performed in the gig are all related to Pop music like
Wavin Flag by K'naan and American boy by Estelle. This was my main Idea to
perform these songs along with a group of Band Members for my final major
project, and which is why, for this written work research, I had planned to
research these articles related to Pop music to show what I am doing relevant
for this project.
